a few more little girlie updates before i forget. her language is beyond my comprehension, meaning i can't believe she can say some of the things she does.
- the other evening, after dark, we were getting back into our car after a target run. i pushed the unlock button on our car remote dealie and the taillights blinked on and stayed on. she pointed and said "light!" - this is thanks to daddy, who pretends he can snap his fingers and the dome lights will magically turn on. snap again, off. so she expected me to do the same while strapping her in.
- i took her shopping on another occasion (see a theme here? too bad it's mostly for necessities these days)... and i was carrying her for a while. she isn't a fan of being carried. pretty soon she lunged at the ground and said "WALK"! i don't know where that one came from. i hoisted her back on my hip and again, an unmistakable "WALK" while pointing down to the ground.
- recently, if anything falls to the floor, gets dropped, anything to warrant an "uh-oh" gets one. it's super cute. yesterday, she was pushing her dolly stroller around the house. she leaned it back, said "uh, oh!" and then dropped it.
- she came over to me while i was lying on the couch, pulled up my shirt, stuck her finger in my belly button and said "beh buh-uh". not believe she could really have said 'belly button', i pointed and said "what's this?" and sure enough. "beh-y but-uh". serious.
- she will tell you what the kitty and doggy say. "mawoh" and "woof" respectively.
- i was taking something out of the oven this morning (mmmm cinnamon rolls) and she runs up to me yelling "mama! hot! hooooot"! where that came from, i do not know. pretty sure it's not from daddy, it's questionable that he knows how to work the oven. but she's one smart, verbal little chick.
- "un-uh". (what most people would interpret as slang for 'no') - this means yes. maybe it's uh-huh in our language, the more i think about it. it is also an acknowledgement that she heard what you said.
- she squeals. with delight, sometimes, yes. but most times - i think it's to get on my nerves. and she has a whine that will make you want to stab an ice pick through your eyeball. serious. instant headache.
and these shoes. how can she get around in these shoes? she insists on wearing them. as in will throw a fit if you won't put them on or if you want to take them off. the shoe obsession continues. she doesn't care if the outfit is totally wrong. she seldom cares to wear socks, but one day i said "let's put on your socks and shoes." she replied with "shaks shooz".
WOW is she a talker! That is awesome. Maggie is just starting to really catch on to words and repeating them. I still would like to know where "Go Away" came from. "Uh oh" was and still is a favorite around here.

oh i forgot to add, what is it with a certain pair of shoes. You would think it was the end of the world some days with shoes around here.

I love hearing about "girl" talk, as there isn't much of that going on here. She is so precious!

OMG! What a talker! Maren has just had a mini-language explosion - she now says 'cheese', 'fish', and 'ow' . . . particularly when I am brushing her hair!

I love all those cute moments you described. She's got a great vocabulary. Amazing how different each child can be. Thanks for sharing. And I'll bet she'll be throwing her tantrum to wear sandals outside even when you have 2 feet of snow this winter. A girls' gotta look PRETTY! Ha ha!
