i've been meaning to blog about this for a few days, but you know. life gets in the way! i mean to blog about a lot. usually when i sit down to the computer it all just escapes me. but not this time!
my little monkey girl talks! and she knows what she is saying. i mean, it's not random! i've been just passing things off as random because i didn't think it could really be true. it's really exploded in the past few days. maybe because i have been paying close attention since i came to begin to accept that she is actually saying things that have meaning. i have several examples of my proof. today she and i dropped j-man off at a birthday party at the local movie theater to party for an hour and then watch "horton hears a who". as we stood there and i chatted with the mom, j-man took off down the hall with his buddies. suddenly monkey girl was waving her arm and saying his name over and over. and enunciating!
the other day, when i went to pick her up at hubs' aunt's house where she gets to go spend some time about once a week, hubs' uncle was excitedly telling me how she was saying "jersey. jersey!" jersey is their 'grandpuppy' and has been there the last several times monkey girl has.
she also says "up" and "down" and knows what they mean. i.e. she will throw up her hands and say "up" and when she's done being held, she will lunge forward toward the floor and say "down!". she quacks like a duck (well sounds a little hairballish but she is definitely doing it on purpose when we play with the duck and quack. mostly she will repeat the last word of a sentance that we say. it's pretty funny. i know there is more but my brain is functioning very slowly this evening. i shoud be in bed!
j-man didn't really start saying words other than mama and dada and basic things "on purpose" til much much later.
she still has no desire to walk, however. that's fine with me.
here's a cute photo of monkey girl with a sock monkey handmade by great grandma.
oh yey! i love when the little ones start making sense! :) that picture is too cute - she looks so grown up.

How cute is she? Talking and everything! My daughter started talking much earlier than my son. He's 19 months and doesn't use many "words" just lots of what sounds like Japanese. I'm okay with that, because my daughter never stops talking.
P.S. I'm loving your new look.

I guess she's got a lot to say and wants all of you to hear her. She's developing very quickly in the language department. Jake was a great talker, but Casey was the opposite. Funny how each kid progresses at different things at a different pace. Love the photos in the rocker. That is the best smile ever. I have that same black jumpsuit from Target. Casey has worn it all winter. It's super snuggly.

It must be nice not needing a translator, lol. It is weird how they all grow at their own pace, and seem to know what they want to learn first. Maggie was all about walking, she needed to get where she wanted to go. I'm sure monkey girl will get moving once she realized how much fun aka trouble there is to get into. Yay on the words!
